1944 - 2011
Antoine Daniel Archie, of Canim Lake, B.C. passed away on January 13, 2011, at 66 years of age at Royal Inland Hospital with his family by his side.
He will be forever missed by his wife, Grace Marie Archie, Canim Lake, B.C.; son Antoine Jr. Archie (Kim), daughter Oranda David (George), step-daughters Gladys Rowan, Linda Stump (Luigi) and stepson Robert Rowan. Antoine also leaves to treasure his memory four beautiful grandchildren: Kali Stump, Loy and Wylie Rowan, and Acaciasorion David and, with them, he relived his youth at every opportunity. Also sisters: Antoinette Archie, Elsie Archie, Sylvia Boucher and brother, Percy Archie. As well as a sister and brother-in-law, several nieces, nephews, cousins, along with numerous personal and professional friends and associates, too many to list, who were all a valuable part of his life.
He was a dedicated and devoted family man as well as a prominent and respected business and political leader. He loved the Vancouver Canucks, golfing, fishing, nature, spending time with his friends, and travelling throughout Canada and the United States when his work would permit with his best friend and soul mate, Grace.
His family would like to thank the many caregivers that helped Antoine, including: Dr. Dickey (100 Mile House), 100 Mile District Hospital, Cariboo Memorial Hospital - Renal Unit (Williams Lake), Dr. Wijeyesinghe (Kamloops), Dr. Nair (Kamloops), Dr. Prchal, (Kamloops), Dr. Michaud (Kamloops), Dr. Teichrob (Kamloops), Royal Inland Hospital - ICU and 7 North; as he endured a long and courageous battle with Wegener’s granulomatosis.
A celebration of his life will be held on January 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Canim Lake Band gymnasium.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wegener’s granulomatosis research, the 100 Mile District Hospital and to Royal Inland Hospital - ICU, in memory of Antoine Daniel Archie. Thank you.
