Al passed away peacefully at Cascades Hospice. His final days were filled with joy and love from visits with his many family and friends. Al was greatly loved and will be missed by his devoted wife Joyce (Miller), son Ken, daughters Linda Manning (Tony), Diane Bodnar (Steve); grandsons/best pals Trevor and Davis, as well as brothers Bob, Bill, Gord and Doug and sister Marge.
Al graduated from King George High School in Vancouver and was employed by the Vancouver Boys’ Clubs before moving to Canim Lake with his family in 1971. During their 36 years there, he and Joyce owned and operated Minac Lodge for 24 years, and Al was a CRD Director for 22 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Cheam Lions Hall, 45580 Spadina Avenue, Chilliwack, on Saturday July 27 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canucks for Kids Fund.
