The South Cariboo Health Foundation (SCHF) invites the public to a fundraising barbeque being held at Freshco on June 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Vice-chair Donna Barnett said the board will be in attendance at the event.

“There will be lots of information. Come out, meet the board,” she said. “Find out the funds raised and where it goes.”

The Wrangler Wagon will be on hand for the event cooking up hamburgers and hot dogs for a minimum $5 donation.

The South Cariboo Health Foundation was created to support local community health facilities and health projects and to ensure that money raised or donated in our area remains in our community.

The Foundation carries on its activities exclusively through public donations.

Its goal is to ensure that equipment and resources are available to meet the needs of patients today and in the future.

In a previous interview with the Free Press, Barnett said donating to the health foundation helps give capital funds for much-needed equipment at the hospital that helps save lives while making it much easier for healthcare workers and nurses to do their jobs.

“For me, it’s all about saving lives and making a better quality of life for everyone, including our nurses.”
