The Cariboo Family Enrichment Centre Society (CFEC) is inviting members and the public to its annual general meeting June 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
CFEC services, including Early Years Program; Child Care Resource & Referral (CCRR); and Family Services, will be giving reports on the past year's performances, as well as future plans.
An overview of CFEC will be given by CFEC executive director Lisa De Paoli.
"There are a couple of constitution changes and one bylaw change that has to be put forward to the members," she says.
The AGM will include a luncheon at noon, with a small ceremony after lunch to recognize the valued work and participation of donors and volunteers.
"We'll be giving out certificates to the donors and volunteers. They are all a key to our success."
She adds they are also honouring two board members who are retiring: Audrey Weber with 10 years of service, and Judy Lauzon with 11.
Some of the programs, which are all free, include counselling, anger management, grandparents support group, parenting teens, stress management, and dads and tots. These programs are for families and individuals.
Encouraging people to become members, De Paoli says it identifies and strengthens the community. She adds having a large number of members emphasizes the importance of CFEC when they apply for grants.
"The more people who know about what is offered, the more they talk about it, the more individuals and families get the help they need."
She adds all programs are free.
"Our mission is to strengthen the quality of personal, family and community life through counselling education and support of referral."
CFEC membership for a year is $2 and a lifetime membership is $25. Members will receive regular updates about all the programs.
