100 Mile House RCMP responded to 65 calls for service during the past week. Some highlights are as follows:
Theft
On April 24, RCMP received a report of a theft from a customer at Save-On-Foods. On April 23, a female shopper had her purse in the grocery cart and while shopping the purse was taken from the cart. The purse is described as being black leather. A Samsung phone and identification were also inside the purse.
Vandalized signs
On April 20, RCMP received a report of vandalized election signs on Horse Lake Rd. It was determined that the signs had been spray painted with an “anarchy” symbol. It is suspected that the incidents occurred the night previous.
Impaired driving
On April 20, RCMP were called to a single vehicle collision on Highway 97 near Ainsworth Rd. When members arrived a vehicle was observed in the ditch. The female driver was not injured but showed symptoms of alcohol consumption. A roadside breath test was conducted which resulted in a fail reading. The female was issued an immediate roadside prohibition for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days. Two additional passengers in the vehicle were not injured.
Break and enter
On April 20, RCMP were called to a report of a break and enter to a business located on the 4000 block of Kitwanga Dr in 108 Mile Ranch. During the early morning hours, the business was entered by force and an older cash register, money and a ring were taken. A tool which was believed to have been used to enter the business was left behind.
Assault
On April 18, RCMP received a report of an assault near Dawson Rd and Highway 97. A male reported that he was driving his vehicle when another motorist took exception to his driving.
A vehicle described as a black crossover SUV pulled in front of his vehicle and stopped. A male described as a caucasian 40-45 year old male with black hair got out and approached the other male who allegedly voiced his concerns over the other male’s driving. The suspect male then assaulted the other male by choking and punching him in the face.
The victim was able to get back into his vehicle and drive away. No license plate was obtained for the suspect vehicle and the victim did not know the suspect.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
Break and enter
On April 18, RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a residence on the 5000 block of Annaham Cr. in 108 Mile Ranch. Between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. the residence was entered and some jewellery and clothing were taken.
