Police deal with vandalism, pot bust and lost-and-found issues

100 Mile RCMP responded to 89 complaints and calls for service during the past week.

 

Trailer stolen

On May 8, 100 Mile RCMP received a report that a white, 14-foot enclosed utility trailer with the blue writing "Power Washer" on the side had been stolen from a residence on Horse Lake Road.

The trailer had been parked in the front of a yard and had a lock on the hitch. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

Pot bust

On May 7, 100 Mile RCMP and Cariboo Regional Integrated Marijuana Enforcement team members executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act on a residence in the Lone Butte area.

Some 330 marijuana plants in various stages of production, marijuana production equipment, cash and several firearms were seized.

Charges of production of marijuana and firearms offences are being recommended to Crown against three occupants of the residence. The investigation into this matter is continuing.

 

Drinking and driving

On May 7, police pulled a vehicle over for failing to stop at a stop sign near Eagle Creek road, and the driver showed symptoms of consuming liquor.

An approved screening device was administered and the result was a fail. The driver met the new guidelines and was subsequently issued a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

 

Missing sleds found

On May 7, 100 Mile RCMP received a report from the public about a pair of snowmobiles that had been located in the bush off Highway 97 near 100 Mile House.

Investigation revealed these snowmobiles were the same two that had been reported stolen from the Nordic Ski Club in February 2011. The snowmobiles were not damaged and have since been returned to the ski club.

The investigation into this matter is continuing.

 

Tires stolen

On May 7, police received a report that four tires/rims had been stolen off a vehicle parked at a business on Alder Avenue in 100 Mile House.

The truck had been left on blocks after the tires had been removed. The value of the theft is $1,400.

B&E or vandalism

On May 6, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a report of a possible break-and-enter to a building located on Airport Road.

Unknown culprits broke the window of the building and shattered glass was located around the area. It is not known if entry was gained to the building.

Tires slashed

On May 5, 100 Mile RCMP received several reports of vehicles having their tires slashed in the downtown area of 100 Mile House.
