A serious multi-vehicle collision on Sunday, June 29, near Clinton has left one man with life-altering injuries.

This incident took place just past noon on Sunday and Clinton RCMP responded to reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a truck on Highway 97 at the Clinton Cemetery Road.

Staff Sgt. Kris Clark said the motorcycle operator, a 66-year-old man from Fort St. John, suffered serious, life-altering injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment.

“The highway was shut down in both directions while police conducted the investigation,” Clark said. “Police are now looking to identify anyone who witnessed the crash or may have dash camera footage.”

Clark said that in addition to the truck and the motorcycle involved in the incident, there was a second motorcyclist associated with the injured man who was uninvolved in the crash. The vehicles involved were a red Yamaha motorcycle and a silver Chevy crew cab towing an empty flatbed.

No other injuries were reported, and the injured man remains in stable condition, he added. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene of the incident and talked to police.

The cause of the crash has not been determined, with Clark noting the RCMP's investigation remains ongoing. He requests that any members of the public who witnessed the crash, or the preceding driving behaviour of those involved in it, or have dash cam footage of the incident to contact the Clinton RCMP at 250-459-2221.
