Amid the tragic events on July 4, RCMP officers will be in the neighbourhood to answer questions from concerned residents.

Amid the tragic events on July 4 regarding the death of a Kelowna woman, the RCMP is hosting a community outreach event for residents.

The event will offer residents and businesses an opportunity to ask questions about community safety in their neighbourhood.

“We understand that this event (on July 4) has caused significant concerns to the community, and people may have questions about their safety and the incidents that they either witnessed or were involved in,” said Cpl. Allison Konsmo, media relations officer. “The public is welcome to attend this outreach event as this is a time for residents, community members and the public to come together, voice their concerns, ask questions and connect with resources.”

The drop-in event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Angel's Way parking lot (Okanagan parkrun) near the Apple Bowl and rail trail on Thursday, July 10.

Police officers and victim services will be on hand, along with resources such as home and personal safety information, and the Block Connectors

No RSVP is required. If residents are unable to attend, but still have questions, they can call the RCMP at 250-762-3300.
