The Cariboo Regional District has lifted a boil water advisory for the Horse Lake water system effective immediately.
The boil water notice was put into play on May 21 out of an abundance of caution after the Horse Lake water system was shut off for a period of time due to "unforeseen issues during recent routine maintenance." The CRD noted Interior Health authorized the end of the advisory after receiving two satisfactory samples from the water system. The CRD has also completed all maintenance activities related to the water system.
While the boil water advisory has been lifted, the Horse Lake water system's standing water quality advisory for high manganese concentrations in the water remains in place. The CRD advises consulting with your family doctor about the health impacts of drinking water with manganese in it.
