100 Mile RCMP responded to 74 complaints and calls for service this past week.
Home invasion
On April 10 at approximately 9 p.m., two unknown males knocked on the door of a residence on Grosset Road in Bridge Lake.
When the female answered the door, she was forced to the floor and secured with duct tape. The unknown culprits then entered the adjoining shed and removed the plant material from a medicinal marijuana permit.
The woman’s Jeep Cherokee and five firearms were also stolen from the residence. She managed to free herself early the next morning and called police.
Her Jeep Cherokee was recovered approximately three miles from the residence on Bridge Lake Road North. RCMP identification Services from Williams Lake were called to the residence to search for physical evidence.
The female victim was not injured and the investigation into this home invasion is continuing.
Anyone who may have observed unusual behaviour in the area of Grosset Road on April 10 or 11 is asked to call the 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Spent the night
On April 10 at 2 a.m., 100 Mile RCMP received a report of overdue person.
A group of men had left to go off-roading in a pickup truck near the Sucker Lake area of 108 Mile Ranch and had not returned. Search and Rescue was notified.
Later on in the morning, the group of men were located walking out. Their vehicle had broken down. They did not suffer any injuries as a result of being outside overnight.
Vehicle impounded
On April 9, 100 Mile Traffic Services stopped a vehicle for exceeding the speed limit at Deka Lake.
The driver was determined to have consumed liquor, and an approved screening device was administered during roadside test resulting in a fail.
The driver met the roadside prohibition guidelines. This resulted in the driver being prohibited from driving for 90 days. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
The driver was also issued a ticket for speeding.
B&E and theft
On April 6, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report of a break-and-enter on McKinley Drive in Lac la Hache.
Investigation reveals an unknown person forced open the door to a shop and stole a large "Stack-On" toolbox full of various tools worth $7,000.
A black 2007 Mercury 25 horsepower outboard motor was also stolen. The motor had a "Wynn's" sticker near the pull cord and a distinctive white propeller.

Ditch and dash
On April 4, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 24, one kilometer east of Highway 97.
The driver of a black Mustang had lost control of the vehicle and went into the north ditch. The driver left the scene, and the vehicle was towed.
The driver was located at his residence and issued tickets for driving without insurance and driving without due care.
The investigation into this matter is continuing.
