A forest fire which first reported on yesterday, is 100 per cent under control according to Natasha Broznitsky, the information officer for the Cariboo Fire Centre.
“The fire discovered yesterday and located about 20 km south-west of Lac La Hache is estimated to be 15 hectares in size. Airtankers, crews and heavy equipment responded yesterday. Today, 30 firefighters and 1 piece of heavy machinery are on site. The fire is 100 per cent contained at this time.”
She adds that it is currently not a threat to public safety or property.
“The cause is still under investigation. Smoke may be visible again today from nearby areas, including Highway 97.”
