Lac la Hache volunteer fire department (LLHVFD) Capt. George Cullen overlooked the damage caused by fire on April 1. Nine LLHVFD members and three from the 108 Mile Ranch Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the fire that was contained to the garage. No other buildings were affected and no one was injured.

Lac la Hache Volunteer Fire Department (LLHFD) members were called out to a residential fire just before 3 p.m., on April 1.

The fire was contained to the inside of a detached garage, fire chief Terry Murphy says, adding no damage was done to the resident's home or to his neighbours' home.

Murphy says he was told the homeowner was working on his snowmobile when the fire somehow started.

"We had nine of our members on scene."

It was very quick response, he adds, less than 10 minutes to get to the scene.

"Three members of the 108 [Mile Ranch Volunteer] Fire Department came out with their tender when we called for mutual aid."

Murphy says the main thing is there were no injuries to the civilians or firefighters and no collateral damage.
