DOOR TO DOOR CAMPAIGN
Diabetes Canada is running a residential fundraising campaign throughout the month of May, where volunteers will be going door-to-door in 100 Mile House and Williams Lake to raise funds and awareness to fight against diabetes. The funds will be used for further research, education and to help send children with diabetes to camp.
RECYCLING CHANGE
The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) has entered into a contract with Recycle BC to collect packaging and printed paper from the 108 Mile Ranch. Contamination (any item that’s not packaging or printed paper, i.e. plastic toys, rubber balls, shoes etc.) needs to be below 3 per cent. In 2016, contamination was at 20 per cent. Consequently, the CRD will randomly audit curbside recycling totes. Totes with visible contamination will not be collected and left with information explaining why.
