Costly drinks

On May 28, 100 Mile Traffic Services responded to a complaint of an impaired driver on Birch Avenue in 100 Mile House and the vehicle was located a short distance away.

The driver displayed symptoms of liquor consumption. An approved screening device was administered at roadside.

The result was a fail reading. A second test was requested, and it was also a fail.

The female driver was issued a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Without wheels

Also on May 28, 100 Mile Traffic Services located another driver who had been drinking.

The male driver was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Out of breath

On May 26, 100 Mile Traffic Services responded to a single-vehicle collision on Dodge Road in Lac la Hache.

The driver of a green Dodge Caravan had slid off the road and got stuck in the ditch.

Emergency Services checked the female driver, but she was not injured and was refusing treatment.

Investigation determined that the driver had consumed liquor. She had care and control of the vehicle at the time Police responded.

The driver refused to provide a breath sample. She was issued a 90-day driving prohibition under the immediate roadside prohibition laws and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Trailer recovered

Acting on information from Ashcroft Detachment on May 25, 100 Mile RCMP located a stolen 2011 white box trailer that had been stolen from Cache Creek on May 19.

The trailer was located at a residence at 103 Mile. Two suspects were arrested at the residence; however, one was released without charges.

One charge of possession of stolen property over $5,000 is being recommended against a 43-year-old man at the residence.

The investigation into this matter is continuing.

Over the limit

On May 24, police received a report of a possible impaired driver in 100 Mile House and the vehicle was located on Horse Lake Road.

The investigator determined the driver had consumed liquor. An approved screening device was administered roadside and the result was a fail.

The driver was returned to the 100 Mile House detachment, where two breath samples were obtained of .250 and .230.

Charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit are being recommended to Crown against a 42-year-old Williams Lake man.
