Agriculture centre tackles project

After a long period of fits and spurts, the South Cariboo Agri-Culture Enterprise Centre Society (AEC) has finalized its lease agreement for an office at The 100 Mile Lodge.

AEC Committee member Howie McMillan says the first use of the office will be providing a home base for a new outreach business analyst to work on an Agricultural Web-Based Enterprise Tool Project in the South Cariboo.

The project is geared toward developing relationships between the producers/growers and the consumers of local food, as well as to facilitate opportunities for promoting local food for the community at an equitable price.

McMillan says he expects an analyst will be hired and working out of the new office space by sometime in June.
