100 Mile House RCMP respond to reported assault with weapon

A collection of incidents 100 Mile House RCMP responded to between Feb. 18 to Feb. 25, 2025

100 Mile House RCMP received a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence in the 3700 block of Highway 97.

Sgt. Brian Lamb said officers responded to the call on Feb. 19, where it was alleged an adult male had been stabbed by another male. The male accused of the stabbing was located nearby and arrested without incident. Emergency Health Services transferred the stabbing victim to hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

"Both males were known to each other and the incident was not random," Lamb said. "The offending male was held in custody but has since been released."

Lamb said the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

Culverts theft

Several culverts were reported stolen from the 7000 Forest Service Road near Spanish Creek on Feb. 18. Lamb said the culverts were reportedly stolen on Feb. 7 from the 5.5-kilometre mark of the road.

Stolen truck recovered

RCMP responded to reports of a vehicle abandoned on the 801 Forest Service Road on Feb. 20. On arrival Lamb said the attending officer found a red 2003 Ford F350 which had been reported stolen from Lac La Hache in January.

The truck was found to have damage to both its front and rear. Officers subsequently towed the vehicle and informed its owner.

RCMP respond to house fire

RCMP received a report of a residential alarm for a property in the 7000 block of Sheridan Lake Road East on Feb. 20. On arrival, officers found the house was on fire and promptly contacted local fire departments to extinguish the blaze.

Lamb said officers helped evacuate a nearby residence until the fire was extinguished by firefighters. RCMP do not believe the fire was suspicious and Lamb noted no one was inside the residence at the time of the fire.

The owner of the residence has been located and notified.

Semi-tractor involved in MVI

RCMP responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a semi-tractor/trailer unit on Highway 97 near the 87 Mile Loop Road on Feb. 21.

On arrival, officers determined the semi had gone off-road into the northbound ditch. Lamb said the driver did not receive any injuries and told officers he had been attempting to avoid a collision with an animal when he went into the ditch.

The driver, however, did not have a valid driver's licence and was served a violation ticket. His vehicle was subsequently towed.

Vehicle stolen

On Feb. 25, RCMP received a report of a theft of a vehicle taken from a residence in the 3900 block of Highway 97. A brown 2001 Chevrolet Impala with B.C. license plate WS893J was taken from the property sometime in the last two months.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents or any others is asked to call RCMP at 250-395-2456 or anonymously 24 hours a day at Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at bccrimestoppers.com.
