The 100 Mile House RCMP are investigating a single-vehicle rollover that led to the death of a Northern B.C. man on Highway 97.

Sgt. Brian Lamb said that RCMP received a report at 1:36 a.m. on Saturday, April 12 of a single-vehicle rollover that took place on Highway 97 near Maze Lake Road north of Lac La Hache. On arrival police and EHS found the vehicle off the highway and in the ditch.

"A single male occupant was located outside of the vehicle who was believed to have been ejected and was not breathing," Lamb said. "Lifesaving efforts were attempted by persons who had come across the scene as well as first responders but ultimately the male, who is a 57-year-old resident from Northern B.C., was declared deceased."

Police then notified the BC Coroners Service who attended the scene. Lamb said the causal factors of the crash are currently under investigation and the man's next of kin have been notified of his death.

Anyone with any information on this incident or who witnessed the collision is asked to call 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456.
