The Nanaimo Christian School Trail Blazers didn't win a medal, but they did get to end volleyball season with a championship tournament in Nanaimo.
NCS hosted the B.C. School Sports senior A girls' provincial championships last week, Nov. 28-30, and the Trail Blazers were able to win their final match to place seventh at the tourney.
The Blazers went 2-1 in pool play, then had their medal hopes dashed in the next day's playoff brackets. They finished strong with a 28-26, 25-16 win against Sparwood in the seventh-place game.
Unity Christian defeated Credo Christian in straight sets to win the senior A girls' B.C. championship.
Nanaimo Christian School co-hosted provincials with Aspengrove School.
Meanwhile, Nanaimo Christian's senior A boys also got to compete in provincial championships last week, finishing sixth at their tourney Nov. 28-30 at the University of the Fraser Valley. The NCS boys went 2-1 in pool play and their final math was a 25-7, 25-12 loss to Houston Christian. Credo Christian defeated Bulkley Valley Christian in straight sets to win the B.C. championship.
