The Campbell River Riptide U11 C fastball team sure made their dads happy on Father's Day after going undefeated at the Ladysmith Softball Association's Year-End Jamboree on June 16.

"The tournament included six teams from around Vancouver Island, and the competition was fierce, with each team playing three round-robin games followed by final matchups," said Jordie Stromquist, the team's coach.

The Riptide won all four games, finishing first in the round-robin standings. In the A Final, the team played the Duncan Firehawks.

"The girls showed grit, determination, and incredible teamwork throughout the day, battling through heat exhaustion and playing four games in a single day," said Stromquist.

The Campbell River Riptide is also hoping to encourage more families in Campbell River to get involved with the game.

"It's a fun, inclusive sport that builds confidence, friendships, and community spirit," said Stromquist.
