Grab your cowboy hat and pull on your boots and join the West Shore RCMP on Friday, May 9, for its second annual Barn Dance.
At 5 p.m., the Royal Canadian Legion in Langford (761 Station Ave.) will open its doors for a night of country fun. The get-together supports Cops for Cancer's Tour de Rock ride, and proceeds of ticket sales will support pediatric cancer research and Camp Goodtimes – a medically assisted camp for children and their families effected by cancer treatment.
With grilled grub, live tunes, dancing, prizes and a silent auction, the event is about family-friendly fun and a chance to support a good cause.
“The night will kick off with a BBQ dinner thanks to Quality Foods View Royal, while up-and-coming local country singer Benson Town performs live,” West Shore RCMP said in a news release. Victoria's premier rock and roll dance band, Late Shift, will take the stage until 9:45 p.m. “Throughout the night, we will have raffle prizes, a country-themed photo booth, a kids activity station, a 50/50 draw and many silent auction prizes to bid on.”
Tickets cost $35 plus fees for adults. Entry for those 12 and under costs $15. A BBQ dinner is included with every ticket.
