Suspect sought after unprovoked stabbing in downtown Victoria

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a random stabbing on Thursday evening

One person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a random stabbing in downtown Victoria on Thursday evening.

The attack occurred just before 6:45 p.m. on May 1 at Pioneer Square, located in the 900-block of Quadra Street. VicPD said the victim and the suspect did not know each other.

The suspect is described as a bald man in his 40s, about 5'5", wearing an open brown long-sleeved sweater with no shirt underneath and loose dark navy pants.

Patrol officers continue to investigate and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
