Saanich is inviting residents to celebrate National Public Works Week from May 18 to 24, with a community event planned for Thursday, May 22.
The Parks and Public Works Yard at 1040 McKenzie Ave. will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. for a drop-in tour featuring hands-on activity stations and a chance to meet the teams behind the municipality’s infrastructure and parks services.
Director of engineering Harley Machielse said the event is an opportunity for residents to learn more about the scope of work the department handles — from solid waste and water services to street, storm and wastewater systems.
