Quesnel RCMP seized 1,100 cartons of contraband cigarettes and 15 grams of cocaine while searching a residence in the 2000 block of Red Bluff Road in Quesnel.
In an April 3 press release, Sgt. Clay Kronebusch said the street value of the cigarettes is estimated to be around $220,000.
"The possession and sale of contraband tobacco products is becoming more common," Sgt. Kronebusch said.
Along with the cigarettes and cocaine, police said the search led to the seizure of $13,185 in Canadian currency, 21 firearms and ammunition, eight pounds of marijuana bud, 767 grams of Psilocybin (mushrooms) and 330 grams of Cannabis concentrate.
The search warrant, executed on March 28 by the RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit on March 28 with the assistance of the North District Emergency Response Team, was for contraband cigarettes.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and results will be sent to the BC Prosecution Service for assessment of appropriate charges.
