UPDATE: Wildfire south of Horsefly Lake now under control

Cariboo Fire Centre is responding to a new wildfire south of Horsefly Lake July 18.

BC Wildfire Service responded to another wildfire in the Cariboo region on July 18, south of Horsefly Lake.

Estimated at 0.3 hectares in size, the fire was approximately 9 km south of Horsefly Lake, and south of Wilmot Creek.

The fire is considered under control and is believed to have been caused by dry lightning.

Three other fires ares still burning east of Likely in the Spanish Lake area which were detected on July 10 after drying lightning moved through the region. Those three fires are listed as being held.
