Meet the candidates for SD 27 trustee byelection

There are three candidates running for Zone 4 trustee in SD 27's 2025 byelection, with general voting day taking place on June 7.

Board of education candidates are campaigning for votes as School District 27’s (SD 27) trustee byelection is underway.  

The candidates are vying for the role of trustee representing Zone 4 which falls in the Cariboo Regional District's Area F and parts of Area D.

The third candidate, Connor Ikoma, did not respond to simplymastery's requests for an interview which were made in February before the byelection was cancelled and rescheduled. 

Advanced voting will be held at the SD 27 board office in Williams Lake on Feb. 25 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Feb. 26 from noon until 8 p.m. 

General voting will take place on Saturday, June 7 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 150 Mile Elementary School, located at 3081 Highway 97, 150 Mile House.

Advance voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28 at the district office and on June 4 at Likely Elementary School. 

Special voting will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 29 at the Williams Lake First Nation offices, from noon to 6 p.m. on June 5 at Horsefly Elementary Junior Secondary School and from noon to 6 p.m. on June 6 at the Big Lake Community Hall.

Those eligible to vote must be Canadian citizens, are 18 years of age or older on voting day, are a resident within the school district's Zone 4 for at least six months prior to voting and are otherwise not disqualified by law from voting. 

Proof of identity and residency is required when you vote.
