Speeding while impaired resulted in a driver losing their licence for 90 days after being stopped near Sicamous.

Two wrongs definitely didn't make a right for a driver found speeding and impaired near Sicamous.

On June 28, an RCMP officer noted a vehicle going well over the posted speed limit on the four-lane section of Highway 1 in Malakwa.

"The driver was stopped and an odour of liquor was detected by the officer emitting from the driver," Sgt. Murray McNeil said in a media release. "A road side breath test was conducted, which the driver failed."

As a result, the officer issued a 90-day driving prohibition, and had the vehicle impounded for 30 days.
