Residents of a home on Sladen Crescent were able to safely escape after a fire sparked in the soffits of their residence.
Fire crews were able to quickly knock down the blaze.
At least four fire trucks responded to the incident that took place on the corner of Boynton Place and Sladen, just before 11 a.m. Friday.
“On our arrival, there were some of the homeowners and possibly neighbours who had garden hoses on it,” Fire Captain Mica Volk.
Volk added that the crews were able to extinguish the blaze but will remain on scene to make sure flames didn’t spread into the house.
The roof of the home was damaged by the fire.
“No one was injured and all the animals are also OK,” said Volk.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
