Originally issued on May 8 due to water quality concerns, the advisory was officially removed by Island Health on June 27. Recent testing confirms the lake is now safe for recreational use. With warm weather ahead, locals and visitors can get back to enjoying one of Chemainus’s favourite summer spots.

Island Health conducts routine water sampling at public beaches and swimming areas throughout the season to help keep the public informed and safe.
