Cranbrook RCMP investigating increase in property crime

Cranbrook RCMP is asking for the public’s help as officers continue to investigate a recent increase in property crime across the community. Over the past week, several thefts and break-ins have been reported.

Cranbrook RCMP is asking for the public’s help as officers continue to investigate a recent increase in property crime across the community.

Over the past week, several thefts and break-ins have been reported. Police have recovered or seized a number of items and are hoping to reconnect them with their rightful owners.

Where proof of ownership isn’t available, the following descriptions are being released in hopes the true owners can provide identifying details:

• Bathroom renovation items, including a shower
• White bike
• Silver bike
• Chop saw
• Handheld radio
• Blue cell phone
• Bag of hand tools
• Outboard boat motor

Theft from Vehicles

Multiple thefts and attempted thefts from vehicles were reported during the early morning hours of July 2, 2025 in the 2600 block of 5th Street South. Police ask residents in that area to check for missing property and review any home surveillance footage from midnight to 5 a.m. for suspicious activity.

Commercial Break and Enters

Two businesses were targeted in recent commercial break-ins:

• Home Hardware – Overnight on July 2, 2025
• Top Crop – Overnight on July 1, 2025

RCMP encourage nearby businesses to check their security systems for any unusual activity that may help identify suspects.

Additional Property Crime Investigations Include:

• A stolen 2026 Honda Passport – suspect arrested and held for court
• A stolen 1999 Pontiac G6 – suspect arrested and released pending court
• Theft of a bicycle tire from a graduate attending commencement
• Four shoplifting reports
