The Coombs-Hilliers Volunteer Fire Department is 60 years old.
The Regional District of Nanaimo is planning to celebrate the occasion and is inviting the community to come out and join an event on June 21 at the Coombs Fairground from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will a cake-cutting following some acknowledgements from guest speakers at noon.
This casual open house, drop-in event will have activities for all ages including new and vintage fire trucks, demonstrations, face painting, a bouncy castle and a food truck.
You will have the opportunity to join in on the fun and meet the dedicated firefighters of the Coombs-Hilliers Volunteer Fire Department.
