All watering restrictions in the City of Parksville will be lifted effective Nov. 1.

On July 16, the city received a temporary Enabling Order from the province at which time, the City moved to stage 3 water conservation when water flow maintains below 1.6 cubic metres per second in the Englishman River, according to a news release by the city.

This order also specifies when the average flow in the river falls below 1.20 cubic metres per second, the city would move to stage 4.

This occurred the week of Sept. 16 and on Sept. 23, the city was advised by the province to immediately move to stage 4 to comply with the order.

Stage 4, a comprehensive ban, was implemented on Sept. 23 due to low flows in the Englishman River and is in place until Oct. 31.

Let’s Talk Parksville provides detailed information about water conservation levels including the city’s bylaw which outlines the four stages of water conservation.

Please refer to Arrowsmith Water Service and Englishman River Water Service links on the city's website for information about Parksville's water sources, supply, management and usage, as well as some frequently asked questions and fun facts.

"We wish to thank residents for your efforts to conserve water during stages 3 and 4 water conservation," the city said in the release.

The restrictions are lifted through March 31, unless otherwise advised.
