100 Mile House RCMP and the RCMP Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit seized several illegal drugs from a 100 Mile House residence last week.
On Jan. 30. 2024 RCMP executed a search warrant on a house located on the 500 block of Cedar Avenue following an investigation into drug trafficking at the residence. Inside Police located 20 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 40 grams of suspected Cocaine, 20 grams of suspected Methamphetamine and hundreds of various prescription pills. RCMP also found some unknown pills being sold as fake prescription pills and several imitation firearms.
One 43-year-old female resident was arrested at home and subsequently released pending a court date. While the investigation is ongoing, charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking as well as breach of a court order unrelated to this event are being considered.
The next day, in a separate incident, RCMP responded to a break and enter of a storage locker located near the 600 block of Exeter Station Road. The lock on the storage locker was damaged and there was evidence the unit had been entered. It is unknown at this time what was taken.
On Sunday. Feb. 4 RCMP attended the scene of a single-vehicle rollover on Perkins Road. On arrival, they located an empty truck that had gone off the road and crashed through a fence and several trees. Officers located the driver a short distance away and after talking with him suspected the consumption of alcohol.
The driver refused to submit to a breathalyzer test. Officers issued the driver an immediate roadside driving prohibition for 90 days and impounded the truck, which had sustained severe damage, for 30 days.
The next day RCMP were informed of a vehicle that had been stolen from a parking lot on Cedar Avenue. The vehicle was a red 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage with BC license plate VL5 17L, which had been left unlocked and running for only a few minutes prior to the theft.
While investigating the scene officers took note of a white 2018 Ford F150 with Alberta plates in the same parking lot. After checking the license plate officers realized it did not match the truck. After further investigation they determined the truck had been stolen from Fort St. John on Jan. 13. Officers are still looking for the stolen Mitsubishi.
Anyone with information regarding any of these incidents is asked to call the 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456 or 1-800-222- TIPS (8477).
