100 Mile District General Hospital emergency room closed overnight on April 6

The 100 Mile District General Hospital emergency room will be closed overnight this Saturday.

Interior Health announced Saturday that, due to limited nurse availability, emergency department services will be unavailable from 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 to 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 7.

During this time Interior Health advises patients to access care at either the Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre In Lillooet.

Anyone who experiences life-threatening symptoms such as chest pains, difficulty breathing or severe bleeding should still call 911 for transport to the nearest appropriate facility. Those unsure if a visit to an emergency room is warranted is asked to call HealthLink BC at 811, or visit www.HealthLinkBC.ca for non-emergency health information from nurses, dietitians and pharmacists 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
