Chemainus Classical Concerts continues its 2025 season with “Belonging,” a performance by the internationally acclaimed Bose-Pastor Duo on Sunday, June 8 at 2 p.m. at St. Michael’s Church.
Pianists Pia Bose and Antonio Pastor, partners in life and in music, have garnered worldwide praise for their sensitive performances and seamless musical connection. Critics at Versoix Région have described them as “in perfect harmony,” noting their “remarkable dexterity and subtlety” in performance.
Their past performances include appearances at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the St. Martin-in-the-Fields Embassy Series in London, the Schubertiade Sion in Switzerland, and the inaugural concert of the Roser Piano and Keyboard Alumni Series at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Both artists currently serve on the piano faculty at esteemed music institutions in Geneva, Bose at the École Internationale de Genève and Pastor at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève.
Formed in 2012, the Bose-Pastor Duo quickly made their mark on the international stage. The pair has since become known not only for their virtuosic technique, but also for their ability to communicate with audiences through a deep emotional and artistic bond.
Their Chemainus program, titled “Belonging,” explores the human connection to nature through a carefully curated selection of works by Debussy, Liszt, Carl Vine and Fazil Say.
