Trio of art events bring colour to Cowichan this weekend

Visions Art Tour, Art on the Acreage, and Art in the Vineyard are all happening from July 11 to 13

In case you haven't already heard it though the grapevine, quite the art extravaganza will be taking place throughout the valley with the Visions Art Tour, Art on the Acreage, and Art in the Vineyard all happening from July 11 to 13.

"It is a wonderful way to spend the day exploring the valley and experiencing a wide variety of art, all created by local artists," said Art in the Vineyard lead marketer Cheryl Wirsz. "For the artists, it is a wonderful way to showcase our work and for people to see how much the valley art scent has to offer."

The Visions Art Tour and Sale, which will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. all three days, is the longest-running art tour in the valley. It once again invites art lovers to the homes and studios of 14 local artists to explore and enjoy their creative works first hand. This year features new members with dynamic energy and fresh perspectives. For more information on the artists or to see the tour map visit visionsarttour.ca

Also keeping with the vision of celebrating local artists and their creative works is the annual summer art show Art on the Acreage at Shades of Green which will take place on July 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 2808 Sprott Rd. in Duncan. The two-day event will feature live music, a gelato truck and tons of artwork to take in, or take home as attendees stroll the farm. Don't forget to check out their $100 and under section. This event is both child and pet friendly, as well as accessible for all those with mobility needs.

The Maple Bay Painters will be displaying intoxicating creative works in their free Art in the Vineyard event on July 12 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. It will take place at the Oak and Vine Winery located at 6380 Lakes Rd. in North Cowichan. Art aficionados can park in the vineyard, and make their way to the garden through the vines to view more than 100 paintings by more than 20 artists. The Maple Bay Painters have existed for more than 50 years with a mission to encourage, support and educate artists in a fun, friendly, social environment.
