The Liberal Party of Canada announced former Burns Lake mayor Chris Beach as their candidate in the upcoming election.
Beach currently teaches political science at the College of New Caledonia. He, along with most of the other major party candidates in the riding, lives in Prince George. He has been nominated for minor hockey coach of the year and was previously an elementary school teacher.
“Threats to Canadian sovereignty and the economy have never been more serious. Carney is the right leader at the right time to steer us through the uncertainty and challenges we have to face and overcome. I am running for Cariboo-Prince George so we can have more than an opposition voice in Ottawa when the Liberals win this election,” Beach said in a news release.
Beach joins Conservative Party incumbent Todd Doherty, the NDP's Angie Bonazzo, Green Party candidate Jodie Capling and People's Party candidate Rudy Sans in seeking the seat.
The Cariboo-Prince George riding includes communities as far north as Vanderhoof and as far south as 100 Mile House.
