The 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a report of a shot heard near the 108 Heritage Site as part of the 90 calls for service they responded to from Jan. 28 to Feb. 4.

100 Mile House RCMP Sgt. Brian Lamb said the report was received by the RCMP on Feb. 3 and had allegedly occurred "near the rest stop across from the 108 Heritage Site." RCMP attended and were directed to where a bullet hole was located in the outside wall of the washroom building.

Lamb said a bullet was also located and the shot was heard around 9 a.m. Additionally, a white car is said to have left the location around the time the shot was heard, but the RCMP do not know whether or not it was related to the incident.

Vehicle thefts

Two thefts were reported to the RCMP on Jan. 28 and Jan. 31 respectively. The Jan. 28 report was of a theft of a vehicle from the 6000 block of Bergstrom Road. Lamb said a green 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 with B.C. license plate SB6168 was taken from the property. RCMP do not know when the vehicle was taken.

The Jan. 31 theft involved a black 2017 Dodge Ram truck with B.C. license plate RA4081 from along Canim/Hendrix Lake Road, which was taken sometime after Jan. 29. The vehicle has not been recovered.

Single vehicle collision

On Feb. 2, the RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle collision on Timothy Lake Road. After attending, the RCMP said they located a vehicle that had gone off the road but was still running. The driver was inside the vehicle and not injured.

Lamb said officers made observations of alcohol consumption and completed a breath test using an approved screening device. The driver failed the breath test and was issued an immediate roadside prohibition from driving for 90 days, with the vehicle being impounded for 30 days.

Spray painting incident

On Jan. 30, RCMP attended a residence in the 5000 block of Highway 24 for an unrelated matter. While there they observed a black dump trailer which had been spray painted with a licence plate which did not match the trailer. The vehicle's VIN number had also been removed.

RCMP seized the trailer as it is believed to have been stolen and had its VIN tampered with. RCMP are attempting to find out who owns the trailer.

Those with information about any of the above incidents and others are asked to call the 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456, or anonymously 24 hours a day at Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
