The 100 Mile House RCMP arrested a man with several warrants for violent offences from Saskatchewan as part of the 62 calls to service they responded to between Feb. 11 and 18, said Sgt. Brian Lamb.

The incident occurred on Feb. 12, when a camper on an unmaintained road near Netherlands Road was reported to police. RCMP attended and located a male who provided a name the RCMP believed was a fake.

After confirming his real identity, the RCMP said they learned he had several outstanding warrants for violent offences from Saskatchewan with a radius that included B.C. Officers arrested the man and transported him to cells.

He was later returned to Saskatchewan, where local charges of obstruction and uttering a forged document are pending.

Driving impairment

On Feb. 16, the 100 Mile House RCMP attended a call for service to a disturbance on Clarke Avenue. The RCMP observed a vehicle believed to be associated with the incident and initiated a traffic stop.

While speaking with the male driver, Sgt. Brian Lamb said officers made observations of alcohol impairment. RCMP then conducted a breath test with an approved screening device which resulted in a fail.

RCMP issued an immediate roadside prohibition from driving for 90 days, with the vehicle being impounded for 30 days.

Mischief

There were two reports of mischief the 100 Mile House RCMP responded to.

On Feb. 12, a report of mischief to a business on the 500 block of Horse Lake Road occurred where a piece of equipment had been damaged inside the business after hours. RCMP said the suspect was a Caucasian male wearing a green jacket, blue jeans and a toque.

On Feb. 17, RCMP responded to another report of mischief inside a business in the 500 block of Alder Avenue. RCMP attended where it had been reported that a female was attempting to light a cardboard box on fire inside a business. RCMP said there was no further damage to any other property and they would be reviewing surveillance footage.

Theft

Finally, Lamb said that on Feb. 12, RCMP received a report of a theft of a vehicle taken from the 400 block of Cedar Avenue. RCMP said a red 2007 Jeep Liberty with B.C. license plate WN8-91V was taken from a parking lot over the previous few days. RCMP said the vehicle has not been recovered.
