Tiller's Folly will be in Parksville for a concert on March 16.

Tiller's Folly will be in Parksville to celebrate St. Patrick's Day a bit early with special guests Joel Hanna and the O'Brien Dancers on March 16.

The roots music ensemble will join forces with world-renowned dancer and percussionist Hanna at Knox United Church (345 Pym St.)

Drawing influence from Scottish, Irish and Maritime musical traditions, the band continues to expand and refine their blend of Pacific Canadiana and beyond.

The band has become known for hits like 'Water at the Bar', 'Death and Taxes' and Ghosts of Read Island, to name a few.

The trio includes members Bruce Coughlan, Laurence Knight and Nolan Murray.

For more than 25 years, Tiller’s Folly have been uniting the past with the present as modern-day storytellers of lore, singing the West’s pioneer history to life.

From the outset, the band aspired to create acoustic music that is thoughtful, progressive, yet timeless in nature — music that is representative of their Pacific coastal home.

Tiller’s Folly has performed to thousands of people at major festivals throughout the U.S., Canada and the U.K.

The show will be a matinee and starts at 2:30 p.m. Doors open at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $40 in advance and are available online through Eventbrite and with cash at local retailers Close to You Boutique, Edge Outdoors and Fireside Books.

They will cost $45 at the door.
