Smorgasbord of Music: something for everyone

The 100 Mile House Adult Community Band plays to raise funds for the South Cariboo Health Foundation

Martin Exeter Hall was alive with music in the afternoon of June 19.

Fifteen members of the Adult Community Band of 100 Mile House played for an audience of approximately 50 people. All of the proceeds collected, $536, will be donated to the South Cariboo Health Foundation.

"We had fun," band conductor Jack Fellner says, adding the group has been together for four years.

"We were competing with Father's Day, and so were happy with the amount of people who came out to hear us."

Fellner says the main reason the group plays is to have fun.

More members are always welcome, he adds. The band starts up again in September, with practices every Thursday, at 7 p.m., at Christ the King Lutheran Church at 120 Horse Lake Rd.
