After unexpected technical difficulties forced the Canada Day drone show to be cancelled, the event is coming back to town.

The VOICE Society has rescheduled an upgraded drone show in Polson Park for Sept. 21 at 8:45 p.m. with 240 drones set to take to the skies.

"Our previous attempt was unfortunately cut short when the show's antenna was accidentally damaged," said organizer Mayla Janzen. "However, we are thrilled to get another chance to host the show and are pleased to share that the drone company is not only ready to go but has increased the number of drones for an even more spectacular display."

This drone show showcases cutting-edge technology and artistry in an aerial performance that will see the drones light up the night sky, creating intricate patterns.

Although parking is a problem at the park, which is undergoing significant work with many areas blocked off.

"Please consider parking downtown, taking a taxi, riding a bicycle (with lights), or any other alternative form of transportation to get you to the park - especially if you are able-bodied and can help keep spots open for seniors and disabled individuals," said Janzen.

The event is free but attendees are asked to be mindful of park rules and to respect the space to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

The show will happen as part of the Sundog Festival, happening over the Friday and Saturday nights in Polson Park. The festival features live music hosted as part of Culture Days.
