Art auction for Vernon gallery back in Coldstream

Midsummer's Eve of the Arts July 16 featuring local works

Vernon's longest-running art auction is returning to the quant community of Coldstream.

The 39th annual Midsummer's Eve of the Arts takes place Wednesday, July 16 in support of the Vernon Public Art Gallery (VPAG).

This year the event moves to the new Coldstream Community Hall and Cenotaph Park for an evening filled with fine art, local food and drink, and community celebration.

The cherished community tradition is a cornerstone fundraiser for the VPAG with proceeds directly support the gallery’s exhibitions, educational programming, and outreach initiatives—connecting the community to the creative presence and possibilities of contemporary visual arts.

“This event not only raises essential funds for the gallery—it brings people together through a shared love for the arts,” said Dauna Kennedy, VPAG executive director. “It’s a celebration of creativity, community, and culture in one inspiring evening.”

Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary glass of bubbly and can enjoy local B.C. wine, craft beer, and hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening.

A live auction features one-of-a-kind original works from local artists: Vicki Drummond, Jay Page, Maryanne Jesperson, Sherry Kalloch, Serena Arsenault, Barbara Fresz, Michelle Loughery, Rachel Prins, Wanda Lock, Destanne Norris, Sheri Minard, Gabrielle Strong, Jolene Mackie, Ricardo Levia, Nathalie Coulombe, Angelika Jager, Sarah Lewke and James Postill.

There is also a silent auction with luxury experiences and travel packages, entertainment, and a curated artwork galley on display for bidding and viewing.

Tickets are available at eventbrite.com and at Bannister Honda.
