One-hour parking zones in downtown Campbell River have been extended to two hours as of April 3, in an effort to support local businesses, says the City of Campbell River.
Earlier this year, city council approved the request from the Campbell River Downtown BIA to extend parking time limits in the downtown area. The BIA had said this policy would help support local businesses by encouraging visitors to stay longer to shop, unwind, and enjoy the city, without having to worry about parking tickets.
In a media release on April 3, the city advises that those who wish to stay longer can take advantage of the longer-term parking available at Tyee Plaza, the Maritime Heritage Centre, and other large lots downtown.
