The Newcomers Welcome event held at Echo Centre on Saturday, May 10 was enlightening and entertaining.
This was a great place for not only newcomers but locals as well to check out the wealth of organizations in our Alberni Valley. It was hosted by the City of Port Alberni who had their Parks and Rec youth there to let people know about the many different programs available.
The Elite Dance Academy gave a wonderfully energetic and entertaining display of their students and the various forms of dance offered. Owner Chantelle Ristine said they are in their 11th season and dancers range in ages from one-and-a-half years old to 65 and up.
There are also four summer camps for those wishing to continue with their dance.
Newcomers Welcome is also a great way for new residents to learn about the many wonderful opportunities for leisure and more.
