A fundraiser for an upgraded skatepark in Qualicum Beach is planned for Sept. 8 at Riptide Lagoon Adventure Golf in Parksville.
'Puttin' for the Park' will be a family friendly, all-ages event in partnership with the QB Skaters group. It will go from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to organizers Ashley Kuramoto and Gauri Harrison.
The event will feature a variety of activities including live music, DJ Connor, face-painting, bumper cars and mini golf.
Riptide Adventure Golf will donate 100 per cent of the mini golf proceeds that day to the skate park project.
The response has been strong so far — within a week, all the hole sponsorships sold out and raised more than $6,000.
QB Skaters has been tasked to raise $300,000 for the Town of Qualicum Beach project that is estimated at $1.5 million.
So far organizers say they have raised nearly $100,000.
The event will also feature local vendors.
Riptide Lagoon Adventure Golf is located at 1000 Resort Dr. in Parksville.
