The Sicamous Spring Garden Festival is a growing event as it celebrated its third year in bloom.
On May 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., green thumbs and other community members celebrated spring downtown at the Hub, where there was something for everyone despite their level of gardening skills.
With over 25 vendors and artisans on site, there were seedlings and plants for sale, handmade arts and crafts, natural and holistic healing items, fresh cut flowers, live music and international foods available. Kids were not overlooked either, with face painting, hair braiding, crafts and activities and plant pot decorating just in time for Mother's Day.
In addition to the bounty available for purchase, people could also participate in different workshops, including a Make Your Own Mushroom Log with Andy, Springtime Herbals and Medicine Making with Erin Green, and Invasive Species and Ways to Use Them with Ashta Funk of Métis Medicine.
With the morning rain kept at bay, the educational and entertaining event was a success that is becoming a firmly rooted annual tradition in Sicamous.
