Ocean Week Campbell River is hosting a series of ocean-themed activities this week aimed at boosting a greater appreciation for how important the ocean really is.
The week-long event kicked off with a walk, run, or roll around the Greenways Loop on Sunday (June 1). It will end with a Maritime Market this Saturday and World Ocean Day at the Discovery Passage Aquarium on Sunday, June 8.
From bird watching at the Discovery Pier to learning how to cultivate seaweed in a lab and restoring essential salt marsh habitat, Ocean Week highlights ocean conservation and the connection between people and the sea.
