The 100 Mile District General Hospital Auxiliary is inviting the community out to a Garage/Yard/Bake Sale at the Creekside Seniors Centre this Saturday.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, members of the auxiliary will be selling a wide range of donated items and baked goods. Gail Maglis, the vice-president of the auxiliary, said they're looking to raise as much money as they can to support the staff and patients of the 100 Mile District General Hospital.

"We raise funds for the auxiliary through different fundraisers, like the garage sale. We have a raffle in the fall and other events we're going to be looking at for the betterment of the 100 Mile patients at the hospital," Maglis said. "We usually get a wish list from the hospital. They give us a list of things they would like and we as an organization will hold a meeting and vote on what we want to purchase."

This can include buying special snacks and books for the patients, among other things. The auxiliary is also responsible for staffing and running the hospital's small gift shop.

Maglis said the Garage/Yard/Bake Sale is a perfect chance for the community to support the auxiliary and, through them, the hospital. She said the sale will be in Creekside Seniors Centre's main hall. Baked goods will be available by donation only with no set price.

"This is raising money for the 100 Mile district community, so we hope everyone will come out and take a look," Maglis said. "Whatever we get, we'll be very happy with."
