Highland 4-H Club had its first meeting Jan. 19, with a small group of members, as there are only 12 members, including three cloverbuds.

At the meeting, we had our elections. This year, our positions are: Hayley Fentimen, president; Maddy Rutledge, vice-president; Avery Rutledge, secretary; Zaria Hayes, treasurer; Aidan Fentimen, safety officer; Ashley Cant, club reporter; and Chelsea Cant, photographer for the newspaper.

Our leaders for this year are Nancy Cruickshank, Wendy Hayes, Kelly Rutledge and Cheryl Monical.

So far, we have some projects, including swine, horse, poultry, dog, foods, photography, rabbit, beef and many more.

Photography has already gotten a head start in the year. On Jan. 30, the photography members, as well as a few others, attended the Bridge Lake Photo Group’s photo exhibition. They had an assignment to pick their three favourite photographs in the displays and reason why they chose them.

We have a good club this year and we look forward to the year ahead.
