Hall upgrades continue

The commercial dishwasher has arrived and installation at Watch Lake Community Hall (WLCH) will be completed in a few weeks.

The commercial dishwasher has arrived and installation at Watch Lake Community Hall (WLCH) will be completed in a few weeks.

The Watch Lake & District Women’s Institute (WL&DWI) asks that it not be used until everyone has had instructions on how this amazing machine works in only 3 minutes. Bob Mooney of Cleanway Supplies from Kamloops told the WL&DWI the warranty would be negated if it was not used properly, using the correct soap.

The handicap/family washroom is up and running. Work on the washrooms is stalled temporarily due to an unexpected expense. Hopefully, the work will be back on track in a few weeks.

The WL&DWI will be seeking quotes on the kitchen cabinetry shortly.

There are still items that are required for the hall.

For more information regarding how and what to donate, call Judy Cole at

250-456-7708 or Helen Eagle at 250-456-2413.

Donation

appreciated

The energetic group of the Watch Lake ladies known as “Ladies of the Lake” has donated a wet/dry shop vacuum to the WLCH.

These gals have given many hours to cleaning the hall for various events, so this donation will be very welcome when cleaning is once again required.

Robbie

Burns Day

Judy and Harry Van Eaton were guests of the Dowco Triumph Street

Pipe Band (DTSPB) at their Robbie

Burns Day dinner on Jan. 29th in Vancouver.

The DTSPB is one of the best pipe bands in the world, having placed 12th in the 2010 World Championship, and rated as one of the two best pipe bands in North America.

The Van Eaton’s grandson, Scott McClure, is a piper with the band and Harry is the volunteer webmaster for the band (triumph streetpipeband.com). Judy and Harry will be attending the 2011 World Piping Championships in Glasgow, Scotland later this year to watch the band compete.

Recycling

program

The WL&DWI is still collecting recyclable pop and beer cans as well as liquor bottles.

All proceeds go to the new addition of the WLCH. These can be dropped off at Lynda Krupp’s residence. A courtesy call is appreciated; call Lynda at 250-

456-7730.

The WL&DWI thanks the community for supporting the recycling program, as every can and bottle helps.
